Jessie Ware’s first concert in Belgrade

British singer and songwriter Jessie Ware will hold a concert in Belgrade on August 27th, on a location known as “the ditch” on Kalemegdan fortress. Ware is promoting her new album “Glasshouse” oh this tour, which came out last year. Ware belongs to a rich tradition of British female singers who prefer slower, gentle, melancholic and often love songs. Most fans of Amy Winehouse and Adele (a close friend of Jessie) are also listening to Ware, and are closely following her career.
Devotion and Tough Love
Jessie Ware was born in 1984 and had started singing after a working as a journalist for a short time. Her first album, “Devotion” was published in 2012. and was very well received, hitting fifth place in UK Album Chart. Two years later Ware released her second album “Tough Love”, which also made it among first 10 on UK Album chart. Both albums might have been even better placed if online purchases were taken into account, as they are only considered since 2015. Jessie Ware is being nominated for best UK female singer every year since her first album, but the top place in BRIT Awards constantly evades her (Dua Lipa won in 2018).
Glasshouse
Her latest album features several guests, including Ed Sheeran and was also very well received buy the critics, who concluded Ware fully matured as an artist with this third album. Jessie Ware is also hosting a podcast called Table Manners, using her contacts in the music scene to call top artists.
Ticket prices for Jessie Ware’s concert are 2.190 RSD for regular tickets and 2.790 RSD for VIP tickets, and both are availabe via Eventim website. Sky Apartments closest to the fort are just about 1km away (like “Vasina” apartment), so return from Kalemegdan will take just less than 15 minutes.
