Guitar Art Festival, March 16th-21st
Date: 06-03-2018
The 19th Guitar Art Festival, under the slogan “BE CONNECTED”, will gather world-class guitars, young artists and classical guitar fans, in Belgrade, from March 16th to 21st . The audience has the opportunity to listen from two to three concerts per day (with the exception of March 16th and 20th when a big performance is planned). The festival will take place in three locations – in the Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment, the Sava Center and Belgrade Youth Center, and a special attraction will be a concert at the Republic Square on March 17th.
Guitar Art Festival enjoys the status of one of the five most prominent world classical guitar festivals, after two decades of existence, and the slogan “BE CONNECTED” depicts the festival concept – connecting domestic musicians with the world’s greatest legendary guitars. Guitar Art has so far organized over 350 concerts, with top musicians from over 50 countries of the world, and over 200,000 visitors.
“We have become a platform that connects and promotes new talents, but it also represents the highest reach and contemporary trends in music”, say the organizers of the 19th Guitar Art Festival.
Dulse Pontes at the Guitar Art Festival
The concert will be hosted by Portuguese diva Dulse Pontes, as part of the festival, on March 20th. The famous singer will celebrate 30 years of rich career and the audience will have the opportunity, in addition to big hits, to premiere some of the songs from her current album “Peregrinacao”.
Dulse Pontes is one of the most renowned Portuguese artists, with nine albums sold in millions of copies. The audience around the world is recognized by her famous interpretation of the song “Canção do Mar” – which has become the most performed Portuguese song of all time. She co-operated with Cesária Évora, José Carreras, Carlos Nuñez, George Dalaras, Andrea Bocelli, Ennio Morricone and many others in her career.
Spanish guitar
The second major attraction of the Guitar Art Festival also comes from the Iberian peninsula, which is the Puerto Flamenco dance club from Seville, one of the most prestigious Flamenco hulls in the world. Although, the focus in this case is on dance, Puero Flamenco is hiring the best guitarists from Spain and the world, and their music and dance tracks are an attraction for festivals around the globe.
