Parni Valjak on Tasmajdan June 24th

One of the legendary and the most popular bands from this area Parni Valjak will perform a concert on Tasmajdan Stadium on June 24th.
Parni Valjak began marking of 40 years of work with sold-out concerts in Belgrade and throughout whole last year did not stop – all arenas, halls and rooms around the region and Europe were sold. That is how a celebration of many years of successful careers and success of acoustic concerts grew into a concert tour „2in1“, where the audience will hear two concerts in one – acoustic and electric – which follows a very demanding worldwide production. Decades of experience has made the band playing better than ever, and on the scene there is the same energy and passion like on the very begining of their musical career. They are still madly in love with their audience, which returns same to then in the best possible way.
Parni Valjak is a rock band from Zagreb which was founded in 1975. in Zagreb. It is still active, although he made a break in 1988, and was disbanded in the period from 2005 to 2009. In the first year of its existence, the group had 154 performances, the first was at a concert held on November 29, 1975, in Belgrade’s Pionir Hall, where they performed with Oliver Mandic and YU group and was announced as Group 220, which in this time were apart, which is why they played under the name of the Parni Valjak.
Name of the group was suggested by Zlatko Miksic, according to the first song to have been practiced to play as the new band. It was the song „I am a Parni valjak“ that Hasanefendic wrote while he was still a member of the 220 Group. Their first studio album, „Come to the show!“, was released in 1976. From this album couple of songs were highlighted „The show is over“ and „Carried me thirsty over the water“. The second album was released under the title „Head through wall“ in 1977, which included the hits „Dummy ball“ and „Necktie“ (Rebel without a cause)“.
