FUN FACTS –
Before the First World War, she was wearing the number of 47 Skadarska street. It was a low, terraced building, which, according to preserved photographs, had white colored windows on a dark facade. The tavern originated from the second half of the 19th century, and its name was given thanks to the case. Sometime in that house was a hat workshop, owned by Dimovic. When a cafe was opened instead of this workshop, nobody took a pleasing company on which three hats were drawn. The years passed, and the old firm remained above the door, with three different hats drawn. After that company, the tavern was named. Before the First World War, the tavern, besides the Belgrade Bohemia, was the hub of numerous craftsmen who had shops in the area. In 1904, the celebration of the first issue of the Politika daily was celebrated in this cafe, and it became especially popular between the two World Wars when a diverse audience came in. Until today, tavern remained the main building and symbol of Skadarlija as an ambient space and a specific social center of Belgrade.
